Fire Chief Gene Stoddart has been involved in the fire service for 28 years, starting his career as a volunteer firefighter for the Linden-Peters Fire District, and then became a full-time firefighter with the Mokelumne Fire District.

Professional History
During his seven years at Mokelumne Fire District he promoted to captain and was an active member of the Urban Search & Rescue Team (USAR) with his specialty being water rescue. In 1999, Gene found his way back to where he started at the Linden-Peters Fire District taking a lateral Fire Captain position.

His main responsibility at the Linden Fire Department in addition to regular firefighting duties was to oversee fire prevention. 2003 was the year Gene was hired as a firefighter for the City of Lodi. Gene rose through the ranks of Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, Deputy Chief, and now Fire Chief.

Education
Education has been a lifelong exciting part of his career. Within the fire service he has been trained in: USAR, Haz-Mat, Fire Prevention, and many other fire service related classes. He has California State Fire certification as a Chief Officer, Haz-Mat Specialist, and Fire Marshal. He graduated from Tokay High School and then continued his education at Delta College. Gene received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University. In March of 2017 he completed the Executive Fire Officer Program (EFO) from the National Fire Academy.
