Temporary Emergency Shelter (Access Center) Now Open
City staff have been working on the Temporary Emergency Shelter, considered Phase 1 of the Access Center, in collaboration with Inner City Action Inc. (operator), The Salvation Army, and Lodi Committee on Homelessness. The Temporary Emergency Shelter is now open on the same site where the Access Center will be constructed.
The Temporary Emergency Shelter has the ability to house up to 50 unsheltered and provide wraparound services including case management, life skills, housing navigation, income advocacy, mental health and substance use treatment resources, and job readiness training. These services are similar to what will be provided at the permanent Access Center once complete. Due to limited capacity at the Temporary Emergency Shelter, entrance to the facility will be based on referral only and will not be accepting walk-ins. Referrals will be provided by outreach teams, local non-profits, and the operator, Inner City Action.
This project is only possible due to the outpouring of support from the community, Lodi Committee on Homelessness, various non-profits, City leadership, and various grant resources. We thank the community for being patient as we work through solutions for those experiencing homelessness.
