EV Charger

Lodi Electric Utility Public EV Charging Station Replacement Project Update – January 2022

The City of Lodi Electric Utility (LEU) is happy to report two new dual port ChargePoint Level II Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are activated and now available for use at two locations including the City’s Finance Department and Hutchins Street Square on Walnut Street.  While progress continues to be made at remaining locations to better serve Lodi’s EV charging needs, staff have unfortunately encountered delays as it relates to supply chain and design challenges.  However, rest assured the City is committed to working through these challenges to complete the project as soon as possible.  We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to complete all efforts within the coming months.

While construction activities are underway, alternative EV charging stations in Lodi may be located here.

Please note that stations listed may charge for access or may have limited access; it is therefore recommended you call the station using the provided contact information for more details.

Currently, the City makes available to the public free charging at its 7 Level II EV charging stations located at City Hall, Finance Department, Hutchins Street Square, Library, Downtown Parking Garage, and Animal Shelter.  To address parking challenges, the EV charging station located at the City’s Animal Shelter will be removed permanently.  A new charging station will be installed at nearby Kofu Park in its place. All remaining, existing charging stations will be replaced with dual-port stations and two additional stations will be added at Hutchins Street Square and one additional station will be added at the Downtown Parking Garage.  Existing stations have reached the end of their useful life and newer stations are available with increased functionality and options for consumers.

Fire Department

Lodi Fire Special Delivery

Our Fire Department crews get calls on a daily basis to assist at local care facilities and often form special friendships with the residents. A few of our firefighters took a moment to wish this special lady a happy 100th birthday last week!

The Lodi Fire Department is an “all risk” organization, providing emergency medical services to the community in addition to suppression operations (structural and wildland), technical rescue operations, hazardous material mitigation, and water rescue operations.

Point in Time Count

Point-in-Time (PIT) Count

The San Joaquin Continuum of Care (SJ CoC) is seeking at least 500 volunteers to help conduct the 2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count with 100 volunteers anticipated to be needed in Lodi. The PIT Count is, a bi-annual effort to account for the total number of unsheltered individuals that call San Joaquin County (SJC) home. In addition to being a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mandate, the PIT Count provides vital unsheltered count data to help inform local strategies, planning and policies to address housing and homeless issues. Most importantly, obtaining an accurate count determines how much funding our community is eligible to receive from local, state and federal resources. By counting the number of unsheltered households in our community, we can determine the scope of the problem and the resources needed to get folks permanently off the streets.

If you would like to be a part of creating solutions to address homelessness and are over the age of 18, the PIT Count is a great way to get involved. City of Lodi PIT Count date is January 26, 2022 at Gravity Church from 7am to 1pm, each city in SJC will be on a different date if you would like to volunteer on multiple dates. To volunteer for the PIT Count, please visit https://bit.ly/PITcount2022 or text PIT to 40403 for more information.
