Dear friends and fellow citizens of Lodi,
It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation as the Lodi City Manager effective October 6, 2023. It has been my distinct honor to serve the Lodi community for the last 24 years.
I have always said Lodi is my home, and though I am leaving City employment, I will continue to reside in this city that I love. I will be taking a general manager position with a local water district and applying the skills I have learned from my
time with the city to improve our groundwater supplies in San Joaquin County.
I had two major goals for our city when I started this position. One was to set our financial house in order, and with over $20 million in general fund dollars invested in our infrastructure, I know that together we accomplished that. You have shown your confidence in our city by voting for measure L, and that means so much to me!
The second goal was to protect our groundwater, and today with your support and the incredible dedication of our city employees, I can tell you our once threatened water supply is safe.
This decision is mine and the council has my full respect and support. However, it is time for new leaders with new passions to carry Lodi forward. Lodi is in amazingly good hands. You have capable, compassionate and ethical leadership in every department and a City Council that is as dedicated to the betterment of our city.
