[ARCHIVED] Heritage District’s Blakely Park Upgrades

Blakely 1

Two major projects are in the works – a renovation of the ball fields with constructions of a new basketball court and upgrades to the Enze Pool.

The ballfields/court renovation project, funded by an $883,000 State grant, has been pushed back to 2020 because of a large number of City projects that are more time-sensitive. One of those is the swimming pool renovations, which is being funded by a federal grant. Construction began on December 17 to replace the pool deck and plaster, improve lighting, plus installing starting blocks for competitive swimming. The goal is to have the project completed by the end of February.

In addition, we are planning to construct a shade structure later in 2019, using the same pool of federal grant funds, for the comfort of our pool visitors.  As this exciting project moves along, we will post construction updates on the Park Improvements page.
