An experienced and talented landscape architecture firm with decades of park design experience has been hired to ensure that future improvements at DeBenedetti Park meet the community’s needs. In addition to relying heavily on the 2016 Strategic Plan, which outlined our facility shortcomings, the public will be asked to participate in the design and selection of park features in workshops in early 2019.
The focus of the plan is the unimproved high-ground area covering 20 acres, although the existing playing fields in the basins may be subject to modification to fit with the overall park plan. Fees collected from developers are funding the planning and future construction.
It will be a number of years before the plan can be completed, but our intent is to develop the park in a way that serves the neighboring residents as well as provide a great place for competitive sports.
