[ARCHIVED] Lodi Library Director Position Up for Approval on October 11

The Library Board is pleased to announce that they have made an offer of employment to Akiliah Manuel Mills to serve as Lodi’s next Library Director.  

Ms. Manuel Mills comes to us from the Riverside County Library System where she currently serves as West Zone Manager and oversees 13 libraries. Her duties have ranged from Library Associate to Interim Director of Operations where she oversaw the operations of 35 branches, two bookmobiles, and a museum. She has her Masters in Library Science from San Jose State and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanguard University.   

Ms. Manuel Mills comes to us with a broad set of skills including having served as a Deputy Sheriff in Riverside and managed a Rescue Mission serving the homeless on Los Angeles’s Skid Row.  

The Board was impressed with Ms. Manuel Mills commitment to the Library Profession and her ability to engage people. Ms. Manuel Mills stated that she is excited to begin a new adventure in Lodi where she has family nearby and can pursue her passions for Library Services and hobby farming. Her contract is up for approval by the Library Board at the October 11 regular meeting with a salary of $136,320.91.
