“Helping Create a Win/Win for the City of Lodi Community”
The City of Lodi (“City”) Community Development Department, through its Neighborhood Services Division, has engaged in a citywide informational campaign, broadcasting information and gathering feedback instrumental to developing long-term solutions to homelessness in our City. A vital ingredient, and considered as the first component of a long-term solution, centers on the development of an Access Center. This release is the eighth in a series to provide information about the Access Center to the Lodi community.
Public Meeting to Discuss Access Center and Potential Locations:
Staff would like to thank everyone that participated in the September 2, 2021 in-person Access Center community meeting as well as those that viewed online. There was a good turnout and we were near capacity. We heard from all of the individuals that signed up to provide public comment or ask questions, and were able to open up at the end for any follow-up items.
If anyone would like to view a copy of the PowerPoint presentation from the meeting, it is available on the Access Center website at: http://lodi.gov/1037/Lodi-Access-Center. The video of the presentation is also available on the Lodi City Hall Facebook page.
If you did not get the opportunity to ask your questions or if a specific topic was not addressed in the presentation, you may email NeighborhoodServices@lodi.gov for more information.
City Council Meeting:
Staff will present information on the Access Center and locations for consideration and approval at the September 15, 2021 City Council meeting (to be held virtually). This will include an abbreviated presentation from the one shared at the community meeting. The agenda and instructions on how to view the City Council meeting via Zoom or Facebook will be posted 72 hours prior to the meeting date. We hope everyone that has an interest in this initiative will participate.
Options for public comment:
Members of the public may provide public comment on the agenda item at the City Council meeting via Zoom video conferencing at the link provided on the agenda. Public Comments are limited to five minutes per person.
Members of the public may also submit written comment prior to or during the Council meeting. Comments should be submitted to councilcomments@lodi.gov (or via mail sent to: City Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 3006, Lodi, CA 95241). Written comments received two hours prior to the start of the meeting will be provided to the City Council and posted on the City website as part of the official record of the meeting. Five minutes of each written comment, received before the Mayor or Chair announces that the time for public comment is closed will be read into the record. IMPORTANT: Please identify the Agenda Item Number in the subject line of your email. Example: Public Comment for Agenda Item Number C-17.
Again, City staff extends a hearty thank you to the residents that participated, our volunteers, guest speakers, the Lodi Committee on Homelessness, community partners, and City Leadership and we hope to see everyone at the September 15, 2021 City Council Meeting.
