LODI, CA, May 19, 2021 – The City of Lodi is pleased to announce the hiring of Christina Jaromay as Lodi’s next Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Director. Ms. Jaromay comes to Lodi after an 11-year career with the State of California, Parks and Recreation Department and following an early career in private sector in the technology industry.
Ms. Jaromay most recently served as the Chief of the State Parks’ Partnerships Division with a staff of 16. She also has deep experience in partnership development, contracts, development of facilities and grant writing. Her knowledge of State Parks processes and available funding opportunities will be significant assets in an era where park improvements are increasingly dependent upon grants. Perhaps most importantly she comes with high recommendation for her skills working with and being able to hear people and solve complex problems in a supportive and trusting atmosphere.
Ms. Jaromay has her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Sacramento in Applied Ethics and Law with a minor in Business Administration. She also spent significant time and energy exploring Lodi’s parks and budget both online and in person and demonstrated a passion and enthusiasm to grow the sustainability of Lodi’s park system for the community.
Ms. Jaromay noted that she is deeply honored to be chosen to lead the dedicated members of Lodi’s Parks Recreation and Cultural Services Team. Ms. Jaromay’s employment contract requires council approval and will be on for consideration at the City Council’s regular meeting on June 2 with a projected start date of June 7.
