[ARCHIVED] Lodi COVID-19 Testing Site Moving to Joseph Serna Jr. Elementary School

Lodi – The OptumServe COVID-19 Testing Site at Lodi Library will close early today to move to 19 S. Central Street, in Lodi at the former Joseph Serna Jr. Elementary School. Signage at this location will guide those seeking testing to the correct area. The new location will open Monday April 5, 2021 and serve the community Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. The move will allow the Lodi Library to plan to reopen to the public after a full year of closure.

COVID-19 testing is still an essential part of moving through the California Blueprint for a Safer Economy and can help San Joaquin County move out of the Purple, widespread, Tier and allow for more local businesses to reopen and activities to resume.

The County currently has approximately 2,400 qualifying tests performed per day. The County needs to attract an additional 700 people per day for testing, which is the estimated amount required in order to adjust the County’s current case rate to Red Tier status (less than 10 per 100,000).

In addition to wearing a mask, washing hands, and social distancing, the easiest thing residents can do to help ease the COVID-19 restrictions is to be tested. Testing is critical to ensure prompt diagnosis, treatment, and isolation to protect others. Due to asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic transmissions and new strains, testing individuals with and without symptoms is part of the pandemic control strategy. This includes individuals who are asymptomatic, but are mixing frequently with others outside of their household and especially indoors and for long durations. Free testing is available at many locations in San Joaquin County. To find testing locations, more information, or report violations, visit www.SJReady.org.
