[ARCHIVED] Lodi joins emergency alert notification system

Lodi joins San Joaquin County in Emergency Alert Notification System

Be safe and informed; sign up to receive critical communications

LODI – Lodi and San Joaquin County officials have collaborated with Everbridge to implement a free community notification system, SJReadyAlert, to notify residents about emergency events and other important public safety information. The automated system will accelerate the City’s response to critical events keeping citizens safe and minimizing impacts to employees and business operations.

San Joaquin County and Lodi emergency officials will begin using SJReady Alerts to communicate with citizens and businesses during emergencies and other critical events. Residents are encouraged to register immediately to receive these alerts at

Countywide, officials will use the SJReady Alert emergency notification system to notify residents about various events, ranging from severe weather, fires, floods, and other emergencies. Messages will be sent to residents via their preferred contact paths — cell phone, SMS, home phone, email, and more — to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information. Residents listed in the San Joaquin County 911 database will automatically be subscribed to alerts by phone.

Everbridge allows citizens to self-register to provide additional contact information, such as email or cell phone numbers, or to opt-out. The SJReady Alert system allows users to establish preferred notification means, such as cell phone, email, text message, or TTY/TTD device. Users can identify multiple addresses for notifications, such as home, work, or a loved one’s home. In addition, they can specify which city or cities and types of messages they wish to receive.

The SJReady Alert system supplements, rather than replaces, other communication methods used by emergency responders, both in person and with other media. Television, radio, and county/city websites will continue to broadcast important announcements as well.
