The Lodi City Council has approved the sale and use of fireworks classified by the California State Fire Marshal as “Safe and Sane Fireworks” within the City of Lodi. Permits for the sale of Safe and Sane fireworks are limited to six stands, which are chosen annually by a lottery. Established non-profit organizations must be within the City of Lodi city limits and must meet all requirements as outlined in City of Lodi Ordinance 1844.
To begin the application process, each organization will need to submit a Safe and Sane Fireworks Lottery Application directly to the Fire Prevention Bureau. The application period begins on the first business day in March and runs through the close of business on the last business day in March.
