City of Lodi Municipal Election - November 8, 2022

California Elections Code Section 10220 specifies that the nomination period is “Not earlier than the 113th day nor later than the 88th day before a municipal election during normal office hours...”

The next City of Lodi General Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022. The Nomination Period is tentatively scheduled to open July 18, 2022, and closes August 12, 2022, at 5 p.m.

Note: If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the city are not filed by the 88th day before the election, the voters shall have until the 83rd day (August 17, 2022) to nominate candidates.

By-District Elections for Lodi

On March 7, 2018, the Lodi City Council adopted Ordinance 1949 establishing and implementing by-district elections. City Council Members are elected on a by-district basis from five single-member Council districts by voters residing in the district in which the Council Member resides. State law requires candidates to file the Fair Political Practices Commission Form 501, Statement of Intention, with the City Clerk before raising or spending any money to run for office. Form 410, Statement of Organization, establishes a committee - which is required if $2,000 or more is spent or received in campaign contributions.
