Neighborhoods throughout Lodi are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the Annual National Night Out crime/drug prevention event. On August 1, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., residents throughout the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors, our local public safety, and City officials.

Purpose
National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
Events
Many neighborhoods throughout Lodi will be hosting a variety of special events such as:
- Anti-crime rallies
- Bike rodeos
- Block parties
- Contests
- Cookouts
- Flashlight walks
- Ice cream socials

So join us again in giving a farewell party to crime and drugs!

Street Closures & Bouncer Apparatus
If you would like to block off your street for this event, the fees and insurance requirements are being waived. However, encroachment permits (PDF) for the block party are still required through the Lodi Public Works Department. If you have any questions about street closures, please contact Public Works at 209-333-6706.
Per the City’s Risk Manager, “jumpers/bouncers” style apparatus are not allowed on City Streets. If a jumper is desired, it must be on private property.
