Visitation Guidelines

Hours & Location

Visitation shall be generally conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m, for a period of 15 minutes. Prisoners are allowed one visit during the duration of their stay in Lodi Police custody. 

Visitors should enter through the Jail entrance of the Police Department at 215 West Elm Street.

Visiting Procedures & Regulations

  • Visitors are subject to security checks including, but not limited to:
    • Pat-down searches
    • Verification of identity
    • Warrant checks
  • Minor children of the prisoner may visit if the child is in the company of a responsible adult.
  • No visits will be permitted if either the inmate or the visitor is assaultive or intoxicated.
  • Visitors who attempt to bring any item of contraband into the jail will be arrested and prosecuted.
  • The Jailer or Watch Commander may approve special visits in unusual circumstances.
  • Visiting privileges may be canceled when circumstances warrant. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to:
    • A shortage of jail staff to facilitate a visit
    • Emergency situations in the facility
    • Medical conditions
  • All visits will be recorded on the prisoner’s Booking Record, including the date, time, and employee number of the Jailer allowing visitation.

Professional Visits

  • Professional visits by attorneys, clergy, government representatives, doctors, and mental health workers may be conducted at any time as long as jail security is not compromised.
  • Professional visitors may be required to present identification and credentials and may be subject to pat-down searches.
  • Jailers shall make every effort to ensure the rights of an inmate to have confidential consultation with his/her attorney as soon as possible after booking and processing.
