Volunteers & Donations
The Lodi Animal Shelter benefits greatly through the non-profit organization People Assisting Lodi Shelter (PALS). PALS serves as a Humane Society for the Animals in Lodi and strives to assist the community and the City of Lodi's Animal Services by providing animal care and shelter, adoption and pet overpopulation services.
PALS volunteers assist the Animal Services and the City of Lodi in many ways including:
- Purchasing much-needed equipment and supplies to improve the animals care and comfort at the Animal Shelter
- Volunteer to assist at the Animal Shelter and Adoption Center
- Provide foster homes for shelter animals until they can be placed in permanent homes
- Raise funds to support the Adoption Center and other Shelter projects

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program
Reducing the number of unwanted pets in our community is the key to saving lives. Hundreds of animals are euthanized in our city because we are unable to find homes for them all.
Lodi Animal Services is currently accepting donations to help support the city-wide spay and neuter program. Vouchers sponsored through donations will be provided to low-income residents to promote responsible pet ownership.
Donating Supplies
The Lodi Animal Shelter will also accept donations other than money which include:
- Bleach
- Brooms
- Buckets
- Clorox wipes
- Can openers
- Dawn dish soap
- Food and water bowls
- Hand towels
- Mops
- Pet food - wet and dry
- Pet toys
- Treats
Donations to PALS
PALS supports the animals at the Lodi Shelter in many ways including financing an adoption center, covering the cost of medical services, and by making improvements to the facility to enhance the care provided to the animals. PALS provides foster care to shelter animals and matches hundreds of shelter animals to adoption families each year.
PALS receives no funding from the City of Lodi and exists on the generous support and donations from the community. Learn more about making a donation to PALS.
