Special Collection Events
Waste Management provides numerous collection events, including annual household hazardous waste and e-waste drop-off events, free to Lodi residents, as well as, an annual curbside cleanup event and annual dollar dump day. These programs allow residents to dispose of their items properly and conveniently, at no charge, and helps keep our community free of unwanted debris/clean. Household Hazardous Waste
Many of the items in your home can be considered hazardous substances because of their chemical nature. Many of these substances can poison, corrode, explode or ignite if improperly handled. It is illegal to dispose of these household hazardous items in the trash, down storm drains, or onto the ground. Examples of household hazardous waste include such items as:
Antifreeze
Batteries
Drain Cleaner
Glue and Adhesives
Household Cleaners
Oven Cleaners
Paint and Solvents
Pesticides
Pool Cleaners/Chemicals
Used Oil
Aerosol Spray Cans
Waste Management hosts an annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event in the spring of each year, at its transfer station, located at 1333 E Turner Rd, Lodi. Most of these items will also be accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Consolidation Facility located at 7850 South R.A. Bridgeford Street, Stockton. E-Waste
Electronics are the fastest growing portion of the municipal waste stream in the country. As of February 9, 2006, E-Waste items are no longer allowed in the trash. Examples of E-Waste include items such as:
Televisions
Computers
Printers
Cell phones
Telephones
VCRs/DVD players
Radios/Stereos/Receivers
Electrical Cords
Waste Management hosts two E-Waste collection event each year, at its transfer station, located at 1333 E Turner Rd, Lodi. Curbside Clean Up
Waste Management hosts an annual curbside cleanup collection event, typically in April of each year. Residents can place additional refuse up to an equivalent of three 64-gallon carts. Items must be bagged, bundled, or boxed and weigh less than 50 pounds per container. This service is provided to residents free of charge. Unacceptable items include dirt, concrete, liquids, toxic or hazardous materials, cathode ray tubes (CRT) and large heavy metals such as auto bodies and engines. Dollar Dump Day
Waste Management hosts an annual dollar dump day, typically between March 15 and April 15 each year. Single-family customers within City limits may bring up to two cubic yards of refuse in a single load to Waste Management’s transfer station, located at 1333 E Turner Rd, Lodi, for a dollar. A voucher is required and mailed to residents prior to the collection event. Unacceptable items include commercial waste, dirt, concrete, tires, liquids, toxic or hazardous materials, CRT and large heavy metals such as auto bodies, engines, transmissions, and refrigerators and air conditioners that still have CFC’s.
