The Lodi Police Department has taken the 30X30 pledge to increase the representation of women in all ranks of law enforcement through equitable hiring and retention of women officers. Statistically, women make up only 12% of sworn officers and 3% of police leadership in the U.S. However, the Lodi Police Department has pledged to increase the representation of women through intentional efforts to support the success of qualified candidates.
According to the 30x30 website, "Research shows women officers use less force and less excessive force; are named in fewer complaints and lawsuits; are perceived by communities as being more honest and compassionate; see better outcomes for crime victims, especially in sexual assault cases; and make few discretionary arrests."
