Traffic Control Boxes

Ethel Maharaj, Kettleman and BeckmanCall to Artists

The City of Lodi is currently accepting proposals for original artwork to be displayed on several Traffic Control Boxes throughout Lodi.

Eligibility

Open to all practicing professional and emerging artists and design teams residing in Lodi and surrounding areas.

Project Description

The City of Lodi, with input from the Lodi Arts Commission (LAC), will select original artwork to be displayed on several traffic control boxes throughout Lodi. The Arts Commission will determine the specific location for each piece of artwork.

Guidelines

The traffic control boxes are 4 feet, 7 inches high, 2 feet, 2 inches deep and 3 feet, 2 inches wide.

The art is to be painted on the traffic control box.  The boxes sit on 18” concrete foundations. These foundations are not to be painted.  Artists must submit a design that shows all sides of the utility box.  Proposals may be considered incomplete if the drawings don’t show what each panel will look like.  Exterior Sign Quality Paint must be used in your application to ensure longevity of the design. Artist must also put a base coat on the box before painting your design.

Deadline

Open until all boxes have been assigned an artist.
