WHAT IS REDISTRICTING?
Every ten years, following the U.S. Census, the City of Lodi must re-establish the boundaries for City Council districts to reflect how local populations have changed. State law requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and doing public outreach, including to underrepresented and non-English-speaking communities. Thank you to those who participated to help plan, draw, and redivide new City districts.
The finalized maps (see below) help us define the five (5) City of Lodi Council district borders, and these new districts will impact how you elect your Council Members for the next 10 years. City Council adopted the map below by resolution on April 6th and introduced an ordinance amending the Lodi Municipal Code designating the map as the district map.
Our primary goal when developing election districts is to draw lines that respect neighborhoods, history and geographical elements.
