City of Lodi Invites Design Proposals for Water Tank
Lodi, Calif -- An official Call to Artists has been issued for design proposals for the Cityís water tower tank. Copies of the specifications are available at City Hall, Hutchins Street Square or, on-line at http://www.lodiarts.org/art_public_places/watertank.pdf.
Proposals are being sought by all practicing professional and emerging artists and design teams residing in California.
Design proposals (electronic is permissible) must be received in their entirety in the Hutchins Street Square Administration office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2006.
Established selection criteria for the design will include: 1) Artistic excellence and originality as evidenced by the design and proposal documentation; 2) Appropriateness of the Artistís design and style in relation to the setting for which it is planned; and 3) Simplicity of the design and number of colors (for installation and maintenance practicality).
The Cityís Public Art Advisory Board and the Lodi Improvement Committee will work jointly on a final recommendation to the City Council. A recommendation is expected in April, 2006.
Funding for the project will come from the Cityís Public Art Fund. The budget for the design portion of the project is between $0-5,000.
All proposals should include a type-written explanation of the design and services the artist is willing and able to provide.
