Jewel of the Valley Series Kicks off This Month
Local and Regional Poets featured at monthly poetry series
(Mar. 12, 2003) -- Lodi’s own Jewel of the Valley poetry events will kick off their 2003 season on Friday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. with featured poets Christina Hayes and Arturo Mantecom. These two poets are from Elk Grove, CA.
This is the first of eight shows that have become the hip medium for local poets to share their thoughts. Each session features readings from one of Northern California’s best poets as well as “open mic” sessions for budding bards to read their own works. Everyone who enjoys writing or hearing poetry is encouraged to attend.
All shows will be held on the last Friday of the month through October at Tillie’s Coffee Shop, 21 West Pine Street in Lodi, CA. The shows begin at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free. For more information contact the Arts Commission at (209) 333-5511.
