FATALITY AUTO-PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

Details:  Members of the Lodi Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team are currently investigating a fatality auto-pedestrian collision that occurred at 5:42 this morning, at the intersection of Cherokee and Pine in the city of Lodi.  A pedestrian was westbound across Cherokee when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling northbound on the same street.  Both the truck and the pedestrian came to rest just north of the intersection with Pine.  Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Lodi Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the pickup voluntarily went with investigators to Lodi Police headquarters for a detailed interview.

One witness has been located at this point, however, investigators are interested in speaking with anyone else who may have seen the parties prior to or during the collision.  Witnesses are asked to call the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727.

The driver of the truck was identified as Dustin James Dais, a 26 year old resident of the 900 block of West Turner Road in Lodi.  The deceased pedestrian is a 66 year old resident of  Lodi.
