City of Lodi Finance Director James Krueger has been appointed Deputy City Manager by Lodi City Manager Blair King. Krueger, who has served as Lodi’s Finance Director since May of 2004, will assume his new duties effective December 12th.
Krueger was selected from a field of 53 applicants. He has a Masters of Science degree in Business Administration and has served as Finance Director for numerous public agencies in Oregon including the City of Bend and Douglas County. He began his career in California at the County of Ventura.
According to King, “Jim was selected due to his proven performance and his clear understanding of the long term needs of Lodi. I am looking forward to Jim providing overall assistance with the coordination of City activities, quality control, and directly overseeing the internal operations of accounting and finance, human resources, and information services”.
Krueger said he is looking forward to his new challenges, and “improving the level of coordination and communication between various City departments”.
Pending a possible reorganization of the Finance Department, recruitment will begin immediately for Mr. Krueger’s replacement.
Krueger is filling the vacancy created when former Deputy City Manager Janet Keeter accepted the position of City Manager for the City of Orinda, California.
The Deputy City Manager position pays a top annual salary of $119,556.
