ELECTRIC UTILITY DIRECTOR SELECTED
Lodi City Manager Blair King is pleased to announce the selection of George F. Morrow as the new director for Lodi Electric Utility. Mr. Morrow has 27 years of experience in the electric utility industry, the past nine as the Director for Independence Power and Light in Independence, Missouri. Independence Power and Light serves a community of 110,000 with over 55,000 customers. “I am very exited about the opportunity to work for the citizens of Lodi and eagerly look forward to coming on board on the 23rd”, Mr. Morrow stated from his home in Independence. Prior to the position as director, he worked as the Assistant General Manager for Pasadena Water and Power Department and as Supervisor of Resource Contracts and as a Research and Development Analyst for El Paso Electric Company in El Paso, Texas. He brings with him extensive experience in power supply planning, inter-utility contracts and operations, financial and strategic planning, customer service programs, and general organizational management.
He earned both his BS in Electrical Engineering and MBA at the University of Texas at El Paso. He will begin working for the Department on January 23rd.
