Captain David Main Graduates from FBI National Academy
The Lodi Police Department is proud to announce that Captain David Main recently graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. Main, along with 249 other law enforcement professionals graduated from the National Academy on June 10, 2005. Main was part of the 221st session of the National Academy representing law enforcement professional from 49 states, the District of Columbia, 24 international countries, two military organizations, and four federal civilian organizations.
Internationally know for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy provides ten weeks of intensive training. Captain Main attended courses on Media Relations, Legal Consideration for Command Officers, Managing Organizational Change, and Nutrition and Physical Training. Capt. Main successfully completed the FBI Physical Challenge (Yellow Brick Road) which consists of a 9.4 mile run and obstacle course. He was awarded the traditional yellow brick which signifies his accomplishment in the area of physical fitness.
Training for this program is provided by FBI Academy Instructional Staff, Special Agents, and other staff members, many of whom are recognized internationally in their field of expertise. Only officers with proven track records as professionals are allowed to attend the National Academy. “This was a valuable and rewarding experience,” stated Captain Main. “I had the opportunity to share ideas and methods with law enforcement representative from all over the world including Spain, France, Germany and Chili.
