Community Development Director Hired

City Manager Blair King announced today that Randall Hatch will be the City of Lodi’s new Community Development Director. Hatch will begin on September 26, 2005.
Hatch is currently the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Ceres, where he has been since 1999. He was Community Development Director in Clayton from 1990 to 1999, and has worked for the cities of Stockton, Morgan Hill, and Eureka, among others. In addition, he has worked as a planner in the private sector. Mr. Hatch has a Masters of Urban Planning and Architecture from UCLA, and a B.A. from UC-Berkeley.
“Randy will be a great addition to our team,” said Mr. King. “He brings a wealth of planning experience with him to Lodi, and he will be a great contributor to our continuing successful evolution. We’re pleased to have him.”
Mr. Hatch commented, “I’m delighted to be coming to Lodi. This is a good move for me professionally, in that Lodi has done a lot of things right and I think I can help build on the strengths of the town. I’m excited to become part of the community, and the City organization.”
Mr. Hatch’s annual salary will be $121,800. He was selected after a statewide search, which yielded 20 applicants for the position. Mr. Hatch succeeds Rad Bartlam , who left Lodi in April for a job in the private sector.
