City of Lodi’s Arbor Day Celebration and Centennial Year Event

Salas Park, 2001 S. Stockton Street, Lodi, CA

Saturday, April 1, 2006; 8:00 am to Noon

Purpose:        On April 1st, the City of Lodi, in conjunction with “Tree Lodi,” is celebrating Arbor Day 2006.  Arbor Day is the time to reflect on the important environmental role that trees play in our daily lives.  At this year’s celebratory event, citizens will learn more about trees, such as how to plant and care for trees, and how to volunteer time to protect trees in our community.

For four consecutive years, Lodi has been designated as Tree City USA.  Local volunteers are planting oak trees in city parks to help celebrate Arbor Day and Lodi's centennial year.

This year's event will also include:  a Tree City USA dedication; Lodi Garden Club presentation; free tree giveaways; educational materials; spring cleanup supplies; and a hot dog BBQ.
