Details:  The Lodi Police Department has obtained a warrant for the arrest of a 26 year-old Stockton man on charges of burglary and attempted murder, following an incident that occurred early Saturday morning at a residence on Lodi’s north side.

Pharaoh Brooks was identified through investigation as the assailant of Mychal Angelo Lewis, aged 28, and also a resident of Stockton.  Brooks walked into a residence in the 700 block of N. School St. at about 2:13 AM, armed with a baseball bat.  He confronted Lewis, who was talking with two female subjects inside the home, and hit him with the bat several times about the head and body.  He then fled.  One of the females called 911, and arriving public safety workers found Lewis unconscious on the floor.  Lewis was taken to Lodi Memorial Hospital, then airlifted him to another hospital, where he remains in critical condition.  (The hospital name will not be divulged for security reasons.)  It is believed that the assailant and victim knew each other.

A warrant was obtained for Brooks’ arrest late last night, and Lodi Police detectives are actively pursuing leads regarding his whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding the crime.  Any person with helpful information can call LPD Detective Nick Welton, at 209-333-6879.  Callers may be eligible for a cash reward by calling Lodi Area Crimestoppers at 209-333-6771.
