Lodi residents will have an opportunity to learn more about how their municipal government and city utilities operate at a special Town Hall meeting called by Mayor Alan Nakanishi, the first of three scheduled in 2013.
The meeting is scheduled to last from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, in the Carnegie Forum Council Chambers, 305 W. Pine St.
Following Mayor Nakanishi's introduction, City Manager Konradt Bartlam will discuss governance of the City and will be available for audience questions. Public Works Director Wally Sandelin and Electric Utility Director Liz Kirkley will discuss how their various rates are determined, the expenses of operating the utilities, and rate comparisons of Lodi with other cities and electric utilities. They will answer audience questions as well.
The next Town Hall meeting is scheduled for a date to be determined in June. The topic will be crime and gangs in Lodi.
