Swimming, boating and fireworks are part of 4th of July at the Lake, the City of Lodi's annual celebration.
Admission to Lodi Lake Park (1101 W. Turner Road) is free, with gates opening at 7 a.m. Public swimming at the beach and boat rentals are available beginning at 10 a.m. The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
Special events include a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. and attractions such as reptile shows and arts and crafts activities on the north side of the lake. Visitors may purchase beverages and food on the north and south sides of the park.
Admission to the swimming area is $3 for adults, $1.50 for children 3 to 17, and free for ages 2 and under. The beach area closes at 7 p.m.
Boat rentals will close at 5 p.m. Pedal boats may be rented for $5 per half hour. The rental fee for kayaks is $4 per half hour for a single kayak and $5 per half hour for a two-person kayak.
Vehicles will not be allowed in the park on July 4, and Turner Road will be closed to traffic between Mills Avenue and Ham Lane. Parking for people with disabilities will be permitted on Laurel Avenue, just east of the park.
For the safety of park visitors, the following items will not be allowed in the park on July 4: skates, scooters, fishing equipment, pets, alcoholic beverages, personal barbecues, glass bottles or weapons. In addition, the Nature Area will be closed.
