Members of the Lodi Fire Department are offering to visit residents holding National Night Out block parties on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Although the City of Lodi is not coordinating parties this year because of budget cuts, firefighters will attempt to visit those residents who contact the City with the times and addresses of their neighborhood get-togethers. Emergency calls, however, could prevent firefighters from visits.
Residents wishing to meet with members of the Fire Department should email the addresses and times of their parties to jhood@lodi.gov.
Aug. 4 is the 26th annual National Night Out, a nationwide event event designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized.
