Ken Weisel will become interim director of the Lodi Electric Utility on Aug. 30, coinciding with the departure of Director George Morrow, Lodi City Manager Blair King announced today.
Morrow is resigning after 3 1/2 years in Lodi to head a municipal electric utility in southern California. Weisel will remain the interim director until a permanent replacement is chosen. King said a recruiting firm will be selected at a future date to solicit and screen candidates.
Weisel, Lodi's assistant utility director since April 30, 2007, has spent the past 37 years employed in the electric utility field. His career includes 7 1/2 years as Roseville's electric utility director, assistant general manager for the Turlock Irrigation District and City of Alameda's electric utility, and general manager for the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission. He also has worked for San Diego Gas & Electric and a Massachusetts engineering company.
Weisel is a registered chemical and electric engineer who received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
