The City of Lodi is offering an open house and walking tours of its sewage treatment plant from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 11.
This is the first time the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility has been opened to the public. The open house is intended to show Lodi residents how their wastewater dollars are spent, from operating the plant to paying for the millions of dollars of upgrades in recent years due to increasingly strict environmental regulations.
Lodi's Public Works staff will conduct the open house and provide tours. The plant may be reached by driving south from Flag City on Thornton Road, taking the first right underneath Interstate 5, and then turning left onto the access road.
Residents are asked to RSVP for the open house by calling the Public Works Department at (209) 333-6706.
