The Lodi Finance Department is moving to a new location one block away.
The office, currently at 300 W. Pine St., will close at noon on Thursday, April 16, to accommodate the move to 310 W. Elm St. The new location, in the former L-1 courtroom of the San Joaquin County Superior Court's Lodi branch, will reopen at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 20.
City customers with bills due on April 16 or April 17 will not be charged a late fee if they pay in person on April 20. Those customers who use the City's online bill payment system must still make the payment by the due date.
Unlike the existing site, which the City rents, the new Finance Department location is in a City-owned building. Customer parking is available in the City parking lot west of the building, with some spaces limited to 30-minute parking to accommodate Finance Department customers.
"We're hopeful that the new location, in addition to saving the City money, will be more convenient for our customers," said Jordan Ayers, Lodi's Deputy City Manager.
Lodi has taken steps in the past year to give customers more options when paying their bills. Those with Internet access can pay online either through their checking account or credit card, by using a link from www.lodi.gov. Also, the City is exploring the feasibility of allowing customers to pay their bills at other locations in Lodi.
