Most City of Lodi services will not be available on March 27, as the City begins a series of monthly work furloughs as a cost-saving measure.
All city services typically open to the public on business days will be closed, with the exception of the Hutchins Street Square Community Center. All emergency services will continue to respond as needed.
Closed offices include those at City Hall, Finance, Lodi Public Library, Parks & Recreation, Animal Shelter, Community Improvement (code enforcement) and Police records and property divisions.
Other scheduled furlough days are April 24, May 29 and June 26. Service cuts may be extended beyond June, depending on economic conditions.
Residents needing to establish utility accounts or re-establish utility service will not be able to do so on furlough days. Residents are encouraged to browse the City's Web page, www.lodi.gov, for utility account details and payments, building forms and handouts, and other information.
The Lodi branch of San Joaquin County Superior Court is operated by the County and not subject to the furlough closures.
