The Lodi Public Library will be open its normal hours on Saturday, Nov. 29, and Sunday, Nov. 30, before it closes the week of Dec. 1 to move to its temporary location at 212 W. Pine St.
The Library closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday, and will be closed Friday. It will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
No library services will be available the week of Dec. 1. The Library will reopen at its temporary location across from City Hall at 10 a.m. on Dec. 15. The move is to allow the library to continue serving the public during a four-month renovation project. The exact date for the reopening will be announced when known.
Many books and periodicals will be relocated to the temporary home, as well as computers. The children's programs also will continue at 212 W. Pine St., and the Friends of the Library and Foundation offices also will move to the temporary location.
Some temporary changes Library patrons may notice:
- The Library will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The library will be closed Fridays.
- The 24-hour book return bin behind the library will be moved on Dec. 5 to a new location behind 212 W. Pine St. Materials returned during this time will be processed by library staff. Videos are not normally allowed to be returned in the bin, but they will be accepted for this week.
- No community or meeting rooms will be available during the four-month period.
After construction is finished, patrons will find a new entry that provides easier access, refurbished restrooms, new floor coverings and reorganized circulation desk.
