Reduced bacteria levels in Lodi Lake are allowing the city's Parks and Recreation Department to reopen the lake to swimming Friday. The park's beach had been off-limits to swimmers since Monday because bacteria levels exceeded public health regulations.
The swim area will remain open through the weekend, followed by Monday's regularly scheduled closure. Results of water samples taken Wednesday will determine if the park will reopen Tuesday, July 22.
Normal public swim hours are 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 3-17. For information, call 333-6742.
