Humor focus of Teen Read Week, Oct. 14-20
A joke and funny short story contest are the highlights of Teen Read Week at the Lodi Public Library.
The library will offer a series of programs to keep teens laughing out loud during the week, culminating in Comedy Night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. Activities include the joke and short-story contest, in which teens read their writings out loud, a "Face Off" funny face competition, and prizes and refreshments. The funny face winner will have his or her picture taken and posted on the library's TeenScape Website.
Materials for the joke and funny short story contests should be submitted to the library by Monday, Oct. 15. School-age children up to 18 are eligible to enter the program, sponsored by the Friends of Lodi Public Library.
The library, at 201 W. Locust St., will have selected funny fiction and nonfiction books on display throughout October.
