Law Enforcement Volunteers of California (LEVOC)
5th Annual Conference hosted by Lodi Police Dept.
Saturday - October 9, 2004 9 AM to 3 PM
Over 400 law enforcement volunteers from all over the State of California will attend the 5th Annual LEVOC conference in Lodi at Temple Baptist Church, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Road. The conference each year provides professional training for volunteers, and an opportunity to network. This year more than 80 law enforcement agencies will participate in the event.
Beginning at 9:00 AM, the opening session will feature the posting of Colors by the Lodi Police Department PARTNERS volunteer Honor Guard. City of Lodi Mayor Larry Hansen and Lodi Police Department Lt. Bill Barry will welcome the attendees to Lodi.
Workshops will be conducted by public safety professionals and will cover computer age crimes, disaster preparedness, explosive ordinance devices, child safety seat inspection, neighborhood watch programs, and volunteers on patrol.
“The conference attendance increases each year and the number of volunteers attending this conference has exceeded our expectations”, said Jeanie Biskup, President of LEVOC and coordinator for the Lodi Police Department PARTNERS Volunteer Program. “Many of the agencies represented don’t receive any department funding, so the volunteers are paying to attend the training out of their own pocket.”
LEVOC is sponsored this year by eight separate law enforcement agencies working together to provide training and recognition for professional law enforcement volunteers.
