Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours of operation? Offices are open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and closed alternating Fridays. See the City calendar on www.lodi.gov to see which Fridays offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What type of programs do you offer? We have many sporting opportunities for both youth and adult. For youth we offer baseball, softball, soccer, flag football, tackle football, basketball, swim league, swim lessons, and wrestling. For adults we offer volleyball, soccer, softball and basketball. Other programs of interest include specialty classes (Self defense and tennis to name a few). Programs are offered at various times throughout the year. Please call our office for more information on registration times.

How do I check for field conditions when it’s been raining? Call our fields condition number at (209) 333-6744. Press 1 for youth fields or 2 for adult fields.

I would like to be a volunteer coach. Who do I contact? Coaching applications are available at the Parks and Recreation Office. Coaches are needed for many youth sports programs including baseball, softball, basketball, flag and tackle football.  All coaches will be fingerprinted and screened through the California Department of Justice.

Do I have to live in Lodi to participate in programs offered by Lodi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services? No. Lodi residents, however, receive a discounted price to participate in Parks and Recreation programs.

Are dogs allowed in city parks? Dogs are allowed to run off-leash in the designated areas of the following parks:

  • Beckman Park, 1426 W. Century Boulevard

  • Lawrence Park, 350 N. Washington Street

  • Vinewood Park, 1824 W. Tokay Street

Dogs are also allowed on the asphalt areas of Lodi Lake Park and the west side of the lake.  Dogs are NOT allowed anywhere else at Lodi Lake Park. When using the dog-designated park areas, please remember to pick up your animal’s waste.
