The Support Services Division is under the command of
Captain David Griffin.
Captain David Griffin started his law enforcement career with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department in 1997. He was hired with the Lodi Police Department in September of 2000. Throughout his tenure at the Lodi Police Department he has worked Patrol, Investigations, Traffic, and as a Field Training Officer. He was a member of the S.W.A.T. team for four and a half years and a member of the Bomb Squad for 5 years. In 2009, he promoted to Sergeant and worked as a field supervisor in Patrol and Traffic. In 2013 he promoted to Lieutenant assigned to Administrative Services. He is currently overseeing the Operations Bureau within the Lodi Police Department.
Since 2013, Captain Griffin has been a member of the Lodi House Board of Directors. This non-profit organization’s mission is to provide food, shelter, counseling, and support to homeless women and children in San Joaquin County.
Captain Griffin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Arts from C.S.U. Long Beach. He is also a graduate of the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Program and the University of the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business Management Certificate Program. He has received numerous commendations throughout his career with the Lodi Police Department, more specifically the Meritorious Service award in 2013, and a Letter of Commendation for outstanding performance in managing a major traffic collision that resulted in many deaths.
