SRO Duties include class presentations about anti-drug/alcohol, safety issues, suicide prevention, shoplifting/theft/burglary, date rape, DUI, truancy, domestic violence, juvenile law, search and seizure, Rohypnol-Rivotril, smoking, hate crimes, sexual harassment, peer pressure, goal setting, bullying, and many more subjects.
SRO's also coordinate with juvenile probation, Stockton PD, S. J. Sheriff’s Office and Lodi Police Department gang units. They also initiate the G.R.E.A.T. Program via the Federal ATF office, participate in the S.P.I.R.I.T. Program at Tokay High School and Challenge Day at Lodi High.
SRO's also assist the schools in truancy identification and reduction, formulate crime prevention tactics on school grounds, enforce State, local, and school laws and policies.
Other duties include coaching school sports, attending parent/faculty group meetings and providing counseling for students and staff on law related issues.
