A recent national survey showed that a burglary is
committed every eight (8) seconds in this country. We at the police department
are committed to reducing these crimes.
Neighborhood Watch is a crime
prevention/opportunity reduction program where citizens bands together and work
with the Lodi police department to combat crime, specifically, but not limited
to residential burglary.
Neighborhood watch groups can take away
the criminals opportunity by following the four “D’s”.

make it
harder for the criminal to get in your home.

keep doors and windows locked.

close your garage door.

keep landscaping cut back from entrance
ways and windows.

don’t give a criminal an easy target.

Delay

Make your
home look “lived in” even when you are out.

use timers for lights, TV and radio.

don’t draw or close completely all shades, blinds or curtains.

C.
have a neighbor or friend pick up all mail, newspapers etc.

D.
have the neighbors mow your lawn if you ArE on vacation or away for an
extended period of time.

if you work, have a neighbor pull your trash can up to the house on
your trash day.

if your gone, have a neighbor park their car in your driveway.

burglarized, don’t go in. go to a neighbors and CAll the police.
