Employment Process
Hiring Procedure – Applicants must possess the minimum qualifications by the final filing date.
All qualified applicants may participate in the selection process. Employment
lists are established upon successful completion of the selection process. The
candidates must be successful in each part of the examination. To fill each
vacancy the hiring department will request names to be certified from the
eligible list and will make a selection from this certification list.
WHERE TO
APPLY – Application materials must be received by the Human Resources Department
not later than 5:00 p.m. on the final filing date. Applications received after
this deadline will be rejected. Application materials may be obtained between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, 221 WEST

AMERICANS
WITH DISABILITIES ACT – The City of Lodi provides reasonable accommodation for
qualified individuals with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities
requiring any accommodation in order to participate in the selection process,
must submit a written request for reasonable accommodation to the Human
Resources Department no later than the final filing date as stated on the job
announcement.
MEDICAL
EXAMINATION – Applicants should not quit or give notice to their current
employers until an offer of employment has been made and they have been notified
of the successful completion of the appropriate medical examination.
DRUG
SCREENING – Under the requirements of the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, the
City of Lodi has been designated as a drug-free workplace. All offers of
employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a drug and alcohol
screening.
FINGERPRINTING – All
applicants prior to employment must be fingerprinted and cleared through the
California Department of Justice in accordance with the City of Lodi resolution
2001-201.
