WORKFORCE
 |
As part of the
greater Stockton-Lodi MSA, Lodi is able to offer an expanding labor
force. With unemployment rates consistently higher than national or
state averages, Lodi can supply low cost, abundant and readily
available labor from a skilled and semi-skilled employee pool.
Higher educational opportunities as well as customized and
on-the-job training programs have effectively contributed to an
experienced, reliable and productive workforce - trained to your
specific needs.
Lodi's workforce benefits from a large labor pool supplied by the
Greater Stockton~Lodi MSA area. With a labor pool of 264,600 in
December of 2001, unemployment in all of San Joaquin County was 9.7%
compared to 5.7% statewide. It should be noted that seasonal
variation in the agricultural and food related industries, major
contributors to Lodi's industrial mix, contribute too much of the
County's unemployment totals. The unemployment labor pool at the
end of May 2002 totaled 24,000 persons. |
