Lodi Electric customers to receive one-time bill credits

Lodi Electric customers to receive one-time bill credits

Residents will see $55 reduction on May utility bills

April 30, 2020

Lodi Electric, the community owned, not-for-profit electric utility is standing with the Lodi community during this time of need and providing financial support to all of its customers.

Lodi residents will receive a one-time credit of $55 on their May electricity bills and other Lodi Electric customers will receive credits as the utility returns approximately $3 million to assist residents and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lodi’s City Council approved the bill credits at the April 29 special meeting, using funds collected for State-mandated programs. The one-time bill credit represents approximately 50 percent of the average monthly bill by rate class, not individual customer.

Many businesses have incurred significant financial losses as a result of the stay-at-home orders, while residents have suffered job losses and an increase in their energy consumption due to working from home. The credit will allow customers to consider energy-efficiency improvements as well as offset some power costs associated with meeting the State’s goals to reduce greenhouse gases.

In addition to the one-time credit, fixed income and low-income residents may be eligible for discounts up to 30 percent on their monthly electricity bills. One-time payment assistance for those in need is also available through Lodi Electric’s CARE Program and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).  For more information, visit www.lodielectric.com

This credit is another example that Lodi Electric CARES by providing Community-owned, Affordable, Reliable, Electric Service.
