Any adult 18 years of age and older who is a resident of the State of California can be issued a Lodi Public Library card. Valid picture identification and proof of a permanent address are required.
The preferred identification is a California Driver’s License or a California identification card. A passport, military identification card, or green card can also be used. A student identification card can be used if the student is 18 or over.
Proof of Address
A document with the person’s name and address printed on it is also required as proof of address if the address on the picture ID is different than your current address. Acceptable documents could include:
- Car registration
- Printed check
- Recent mail received
- Rent receipt
- Utility bill
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian with valid photo identification and proof of address.
Adults and children who want to use the public computers and do not wish to check-out any materials may apply for an Internet card. Adults must provide a valid picture ID for themselves and their children. Proof of permanent address is not required.
Due to concerns about the misuse of library card information, the Lodi Public Library requires that patrons have their library cards in hand in order to effect any library transaction, including:
- Check out materials
- Use the computers
- Renew their cards
- Put money on their cards for copying
Library staff are not permitted to provide library card numbers or perform any library functions using a patron's personal identification.
